Genuine Cartier begins several orders of magnitude above that, and the difference is not marketing. The Tank has been in production since 1917 and remains the most quietly influential watch design of the twentieth century. The Ballon Bleu and Santos carry the same case finishing, movement standards and sapphire cabochon crown.
